VSCC Admissions Information, High School Joint Enrollment

If you are high school senior with a maximum load of two high school academic courses you may be able to enroll at VSCC for a maximum college load of 12 hours per semester.
OR
If you are high school senior carrying a full high school load, you may be permitted to register for one course per semester under special circumstances.
In order to enroll you will need to do the following:

Submit an Application for Admission to VSCC

Submit a $10 nonrefundable application fee

Provide written approval from your principal

Show competency in the basic skills of arithmetic, reading, and English composition (for 12 credit hours) Competency can be demonstrated by submitting acceptable ACT scores (19 or above in all test areas), or the ACT Compass in these areas will be administered through the Counseling/Testing Office prior to the approval of joint enrollment. Students may not enroll if they place at the developmental level, or below on the ACT Compass.

Show competency in the specific subject area in which you are interested in enrolling (for one course) If the student is registering for only one course he/she will be required to submit acceptable ACT scores in the specific subject area (scores of 19 or above) or be given the ACT Compass exam for the course they are taking. Students may not enroll if they place at the developmental level, or below on the ACT Compass. See our Testing FAQ for additional information on the web about the testing process.
