Job Description: Assist in optimizing human, technological, logistical and materials resources of a production system with an emphasis on efficiency, productivity and quality. Summary: Working as part of FWE’S Engineering team in Portland, TN, assist engineers in decision making, manufacturing and process initiatives. Help increase communication & productivity of FWE’S manufacturing operation. Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Identify and document opportunities for process optimization and defect prevention throughout the manufacturing process, from supply chain to information, human resources, and assembly line operations. • Document processes to create standard work instructions for training. • Focus on problem identification, definition and cost justification for selected projects. • Daily interface with production workers and supervisors and willingness to listen and understand their concerns, and share those concerns with engineers. • Suggest ways of increasing productivity through the management of people, machines, materials, information, energy, methods of business organization, and technology to make the best product possible. • Create CAD design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency. • Assist in making improvements systemic across product lines/processes. • Review production data to identify opportunities for improvement. • Conduct time studies to assist in determining production standards. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Proven analytical and problems-solving skills, initiative, energy and drive. • Excellent, organizational, people and communication skills and work cooperatively with management. • Mechanical aptitude and natural hands on approach to problem solving, • Good attention to detail. • Proficiency with Microsoft applications as well as database reporting tools. • Proven ability to work independently and report observations, risks and ideas to management.

Job Requirements:
Education and Experience Requirements: • Pre-engineering coursework in mathematics science, manufacturing, quality control, organizational behavior and economics. • Hands on Manufacturing experience desirable.
