Job Description:
DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)- $8.50/Hr.
Flexible Hours /Shifts
Job Responsibilities:
Working with the people we support to develop healthy personal and social habits and accomplish the tasks of daily living, such as eating, dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, playing and working according to each person-centered plan. The duties you will accomplish are based on which shift you work and the direction of the Program Manager.
Job Requirements:
Positive motivational coaching and training skills, patient listening and communication skills and excels at what they do because they truly care about the people they serve.
Additional requirements for the DSP include:
1. Pass a background check and drug screen
2. High school degree or GED required
3. Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license and auto insurance
4. Handle/move between 20 and 50 pounds and provide CPR after certification
5. Flexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed
6. Remain calm in crisis situations
7. Experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities preferred
8. CPR, First Aid, CPI, DIDD Training and Medication Administration Certification a plus
