Job DescriptionThe Information Technology Generalist is responsible for the day?to?day operations of HCS’ IT help desk and general system administration. Working closely with HCS’ IT Staff, the IT Generalist will also have a shared responsibility of maintaining HCS’ IT infrastructure, performing daily IT tasks, and supporting HCS’ employees.
Respond to employee help desk requests using HCS’ IT Help Ticketing System.
Under general supervision, monitor, operate and maintain hardware, software, and networks.
Help define HCS Disaster Recovery Strategies.
Assist in maintaining HCS’ Backup Systems and recovery activities.
Plan system upgrades and patches with IT management and staff
Stay up to date on latest releases of applications as well as relevant business knowledge.
Participate in software/hardware testing. Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies
Track and update documentation of HCS’ Technology Assets
Maintain telecommunications, i.e. phone system and extensions
Execute daily IT Tasks and other duties as assigned.
Job RequirementsExperience preferred but not required. Aptitude of relevant IT skills will be considered in lieu of experience.
Knowledge of General Information Security processes and procedures.
Troubleshooting skills with desktop platforms including Windows 7 and Windows 8.
Experience with Windows 2012 Server and Active Directory.
Experience with Virtualization (VMare VSphere).
Exceptional people skills.
Exceptional written and oral skills and the ability to create accurate documentation.
Ability and desire to acquire new skills and knowledge quickly. Ability to think and work independently.
Must be self?guided individual, requiring minimal supervision.
Must have high integrity and a strong work ethic.
A passion for technology.
Technical certifications a plus, but not required.
Education: AssociateÕs degree
