Job Description:
Transport carts of soiled personal laundry to the washroom, from the floors on a specific schedule.
Sort clothes before washing to ensure that each resident receives his/her proper clothing in good condition.
Operate washers following safety guidelines and in such a way as to maintain equipment.
Operate dryers following safety guidelines and in such a way as to maintain equipment.
Fold or hang clothing, sorting according to floor and resident.
Return and store personal laundry neatly in proper resident rooms.
Ensure mops and rags are clean and available for housekeeping.
Clean lint traps and keep laundry area clean and lint free.
Respect privacy and dignity of residents.
Interact professionally and respectfully with residents, family and visitors.
Performs other work related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required:
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift heavy wet linens into and out of washing machines.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, to push, pull and bend while processing linens.
