Information Systems Advisor 1 – Multimedia Project Manager

METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE & DAVIDSON COUNTY -

Job DescriptionTYPICAL DUTIES:
• Leads and participates in pre-production tasks, including working with division manager, staff and customers to develop project outlines, working scripts, shot sheets, locations, talent and schedule identification, etc.
• Leads and participates in post-production tasks, including assigning and prioritizing editing tasks, reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, final editing using appropriate editing software, utilizing computer graphics, and making video products available in a variety of formats, including DVDs or streaming media files
• Leads effort to identify, prioritize, prepare, review, and maintain operational process documentation as related to the job
• Performs activities necessary for multi-cam and single-cam field productions, and control room shoots
• Performs set up and operation of a podium and public address system including mics, switcher and multi-box
• Provides management with supporting documentation and/or written reports to support operational processes
• Works with the division manager to develop and prioritize current and future needs for Metro 3 services, including developing and implementing plans for new content for Metro 3
• Participates in meetings or processes which support department project portfolio, financial planning and review, or status and performance reporting
• Manages activities necessary for creation, approval and airing of graphic slides using the carousel system
• Develops and implements programming schedule for Metro 3
• Posts updates and schedules to Nashville.gov and maintain the Metro 3 Facebook page
• Ensures that all Metro3 commitments are covered and that the prescribed resources are assigned to each meeting and/or event

Job RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of education and experience that would prepare the incumbent to perform the duties of the position at the appropriate level. A typical candidate would have considerable experience using video, lighting, audio, public address systems and all equipment in a control room and considerable experience performing pre-production and post-production tasks (primarily editing).

Valid “Class D” Driver’s License.

Candidates with degrees earned at foreign institutions are encouraged to apply.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

• Experience managing projects
• Experience authoring and encoding DVDs and videos
• Ability to understand and apply concepts and techniques for using video equipment for both single cam and multi-cam field productions
• Ability to understand and apply concepts and techniques of directing including use of transitions, the ability to make quick decisions in a timely manner, communicate necessary actions to crew and ability to perform related tasks
• Ability to understand and apply concepts and techniques of editing and serve as primary editor on projects
• Ability to understand and apply concepts and techniques of audio including maintaining properly balanced audio levels, gain control to avoid clipping and over modulation as well as the proper selection of microphones for situational use
• Ability to understand and apply concepts and techniques of lighting including, 3-point lighting, fill, key lighting, backlighting
• Ability to perform independently on moderate to complex troubleshooting on audio, video, and lighting equipment
• Ability to develop and write documentation
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
