Are You Ready for a World of Music?
You've got passion. You've got talent. Now ask yourself...do you have the know-how? There are no overnight successes in the music business. If you really want a career in music you've got to start with a solid foundation. That's why an education in music from Volunteer State is so important.
The classes you’ll take as you work toward your degree will broaden your perspective and open your eyes to a world that exists beyond your own life experiences. Communication classes will help you learn to speak and listen. Art, theater, and philosophy courses will help you see how other people and cultures experience life. By opening your mind, you will create a deeper emotional well from which your passion, talent, and creativity can draw.
Our emphasis classes in music are the fundamental building blocks you need to write, perform, teach, and produce in every music genre. In music theory classes, you’ll learn how to read and write music and how to arrange and transpose all forms of music from traditional to contemporary styles.
For your electives you can choose private voice or guitar lessons or you can join one of the performing ensembles and travel throughout Middle Tennessee learning new music, meeting new people and representing Volunteer State’s music program.
There’s no other two-year program in the area that offers the variety you’ll find here. No other college offers more affordable tuition than Volunteer State. If you know that music is your future, join us and you’ll discover...
