Banking Program

Volunteer State Community College | Academic Business Division

The American Institute of Banking Program

The American Institute of Banking (AIB) program is a joint effort of the college and the American Bankers Association. We are part of a nationally recognized banker education network. Our primary goal is to provide quality education and training to banking employees and to provide bankers with an avenue for career development and advancement. Our program leads to industry recognized AIB diplomas, as well as an Associate of Applied Science Degree in General Business Administration with a concentration in banking.

Associate of Applied Science
(General Business Administration Option) Banking Concentration

The Banking Concentration is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills to work in the financial services environment. The program is primarily geared toward bank employees seeking career advancement through formal study. Students enrolled in this concentration seek career growth in positions such as loan officer, branch manager, and head teller or supervisor.

In addition to the regular semester courses, VSCC can provide instruction in a seminar or workshop format to meet the needs of bankers in specific subject areas. Credit and Noncredit short courses may be developed based on needs of the industry or individual banks.
