Bluegrass Music Program

As part of the Visual and Performing Arts program, Volunteer State Community College offers an Associate of Science degree in Bluegrass music. Modeled after the East Tennessee State University Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music Studies Program, courses will be offered on the main campus, the Livingston campus and the new Highland Crest campus in Springfield. Courses will include private instruction in vocal, guitar, fiddle, mandolin and banjo. Additionally, our songwriting curriculum will be expanded. Seminar classes and ensemble opportunities  will  be available for students, as well as members of the community.
