Campus Police

The Volunteer State Community College Campus Police Department exists as a support unit of the college for the purpose of establishing and maintaining an atmosphere in which people can go safely about their varied activities in furtherance of the college's higher education objective. VSCC Campus Police Department believes that reducing the combination of factors that make crime possible can decrease crime and criminal opportunities. In order for a crime to take place there must be: desire, ability, and opportunity. The VSCC Campus Police Department believes that together with the campus community they can work to identify, prioritize, and solve contemporary problems such as crime, drugs, fear of crime and traffic/parking control.

Student Conduct & Discipline

The Vol State Campus Police Department has the complete police authority to apprehend and arrest anyone involved in illegal acts on campus and areas immediately adjacent to the campus. If a VSCC student commits minor offenses involving VSCC rules and regulations, campus police officers will refer the individual to the Vice President for Student Services for disciplinary action.
