Allied Health – Tuitions, fees and other costs
A goniometer allows Physical Therapist Assistants to measure the range of motion in a joint that has been damaged. As treatment and therapy progress, range of motion should increase compared with the baseline measurement taken after the injury.
As specialized fields of study, Allied Health programs at Volunteer State Community College have different additional costs, which can include association membership fees, malpractice insurance and uniforms.
Expect the following costs for most programs: application fee ($10), background check ($75), graduation fee ($25), lab coat ($30), scrub suits ($40 each) and $200-$300 for vaccinations and disease screening. Proof of vaccinations can lessen some of the costs.
The additional costs for the Sleep Diagnostics Program are about $950. Extra costs for the EMT Basic Program are about $750 and the Paramedic Program about $1,100. Prospective students should include all costs in their financial planning. The full two-year Radiologic Technology Program, for example, costs about $8,200 for Tennessee residents and $25,000 for non-residents.
