Distance Learning Committee
Committee Purpose
The Distance Learning Committee reviews and recommends guidelines, policies and procedures regarding the College's Distance Learning initiatives.
Committee Activities
- Develop and monitor improvements for instruction delivered by technology.
- Recommend new delivery alternatives.
- Review and recommend improvements to the evaluation process of distance support services and instruction.
- Provide professional development for distance instructors and support staff.
- Identify courses to be developed as distance-delivered courses.
- Recommend policies on compensation for developing distance courses.
- Recommend policies for teaching loads in distance courses.
- Respond to other distance learning issues identified by Academic Affairs and other college units.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs
Membership
- Five (5) faculty representatives, with no more than two (2) representatives from any one division
- One (1) representative from the Library
- One (1) representative from Continuing Education
- ROCE Coordinator
- Student representation: 2
- Total membership: 9 — 16
- At-large members: 2
