Distance Learning Committee

Committee Purpose

The Distance Learning Committee reviews and recommends guidelines, policies and procedures regarding the College's Distance Learning initiatives.

Committee Activities

  1. Develop and monitor improvements for instruction delivered by technology.
  2. Recommend new delivery alternatives.
  3. Review and recommend improvements to the evaluation process of distance support services and instruction.
  4. Provide professional development for distance instructors and support staff.
  5. Identify courses to be developed as distance-delivered courses.
  6. Recommend policies on compensation for developing distance courses.
  7. Recommend policies for teaching loads in distance courses.
  8. Respond to other distance learning issues identified by Academic Affairs and other college units.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs

Membership

  • Five (5) faculty representatives, with no more than two (2) representatives from any one division
  • One (1) representative from the Library
  • One (1) representative from Continuing Education
  • ROCE Coordinator
  • Student representation: 2
  • Total membership: 9 — 16
  • At-large members: 2
