General Education Outcomes Assessment Committee
Committee Purpose
The purpose of the General Education Committee is to ensure achievement of general education outcomes and academic excellence in the general education program.
Committee Activities
- Develop a program of general education outcomes assessment.
- Research and identify appropriate assessment instruments.
- Review results of general education assessments.
- Report results of general education assessments to the Vice President of Academic Affairs
- Assist all faculty in developing mechanisms to improve general education instruction based on assessment results.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs
Membership
- At least one (1) faculty representative, but no more than two (2) representatives from each academic division
- One (1) representative from Testing
- One (1) Academic Dean from Humanities, Social Sciences and Education, or Math and Science (will rotate on a yearly basis)
- One (1) department chair from Humanities, Social Sciences and Education, or Math and Science (will rotate on a yearly basis)
- Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, Planning, and Assessment
- Chair of Curriculum Committee
- Student representation: 2
- Total Membership: 12 — 17
