COM 270:  Audio for Media
"Provides a basic understanding of the theories and technology used in audio production for CD's, radio, TV, and film, laboratory included." 
(3 Credit Hours)
COURSE OBJECTIVE:

In Com 270 students learn the basics of audio and acoustics. This is the basic foundation upon which all audio knowledge is built.  Any student preparing for a career  in the music or audio fields will find this class invaluable.    
    Course Textbook:    

Audio in Media, the Recording Studio.  
Alten, 4th edition.
     
 VISIT THE BOOKSTORE

As a result of successful completion of this course, students will have demonstrated a knowledge of the basic principles of sound and audio acoustics relating to commercial audio production.

Students will also learn common audio terminology and standards, and gain a basic understanding of audio equipment and operating procedures.

This course is a good first step towards a career at a recording studio.
