Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Free OB Ultrasound Scans at Vol State
Expecting moms can get free ultrasounds from Volunteer State Community College this spring. The scans allow Volunteer State Community College students to gain experience with real obstetric patients. The scans will be performed in the brand new Sonography center at Volunteer State Community College, equipped with six beds, HD screens and state-of-the-art ultrasound machines. All ultrasounds are supervised by a Volunteer State Community College faculty member. Interested women must have been to their obstetrician and confirmed the viability of their fetus. The students will be scanning on Wednesdays after 1 p.m., starting in February and going through April. The scans usually last one-hour. Patients must sign a release of liability before they can participate. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call Diagnostic Medical Sonography Director, Jennifer Carroll at 615-230-3339.
