Distance Learning, Compiling, and Downloading Calendar Entries

This option allows you to compile and download Calendar entries based on specific criteria. Entries are compiled based on a date range; to refine your search, you may also apply a filter and search value.

From the Calendar, select Designer Options. The Settings and Options screen appears.

Under Options, select Compile or download calendar, and then click Go. The Compile or Download Calendar Entries screen appears.

From the Month, Day, and Year drop-down lists, select the date range for the entries you wish to compile.

To apply a filter to your search:

From the Criteria drop-down list, select the calendar entry field you wish to search.

From the Comparison drop-down list, select the comparison term to apply to your search.

In the Value text box, enter the value you wish to search for.

Select the access level for the entries you wish to compile. You may select to compile Public entries only, Private entries only, or Both.

To view your compiled list on screen, click Display. The Compiled Calendar Entries screen appears displaying your search results.

To download your compiled entries, click Download. Your browser's file download dialogue box appears.

Select to save the file to disk, and then click OK.

Select a location and file name for your compiled entries, and then click Save.

The file is downloaded to your computer.

Uploading the text file
From the Import screen, click Browse to select the file.

Click Upload.

To select the file from your computer, click Browse.

Click Continue. The text file you selected is now displayed in your myFiles folder on the My VolState Online server. You can now import it to the calendar.

Importing the text file

Select Import Calendar Entries from File.

Click Go.

Type the file path of the text file you want to import or click Browse to select the file from within My-Files on the server.
