Math and Science Division
The Math and Science Division of the academic program of the College offers university parallel degrees in Associate of Science or Associate of Arts in a number of disciplines, and the Associate of Applied Science in General Technology, with a concentration in Industrial Technology. Freshman- and Sophomore-level courses are taught in Agriculture, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Pre-Dental Hygiene, Pre-Nursing, and in the Pre-Medical Professional areas of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medical Technology, Optometry, Physical Therapy, and Veterinary Medicine.
Candidates seeking to instruct in the Division must possess appropriate credentials. Minimum educational/work credentials are:
- AS/AA degree program (courses designed to transfer to a Bachelors degree program) A Masters degree. Eighteen graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
- AAS degree program (professional, occupational, technical courses not designed for transfer to a Bachelors degree program) - Associate degree. Work experience in the field. Baccalaureate degree preferred.
- Developmental Studies Math Bachelors degree in Math or related area with undergraduate Calculus and teaching experience.
