Welcome to Volunteer State's Health Services - Employee section. This site serves as a resource center for VSCC faculty and staff.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration requires all new employees receive training during orientation concerning bloodborne pathogens. Any employee that receives a paycheck from Volunteer State Community College must complete this training. During this time, employees will be offered the Hepatitis B vaccine.
New employees must complete the following paperwork during the orientation period.
Certain job classifications have been identified as having greater risk for exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Those job classifications include:
In addition to bloodborne pathogen in orientation, the above employees must complete the following on an annual basis before their annual evaluation. Once completed, the employee returns to their immediate supervisor and Human Resources.
This information will be kept in the employee file. One copy will be kept by the immediate supervisor and one copy will be kept in Human Resources.
