Carole Bucy is a Professor of History at Volunteer State Community College.  She holds a B. A. from Baylor University, an M. A. from George Peabody College, and a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University.  She is a frequent speaker at community events on local historical topics.  She is the author of History Carved in Stone: Tthe Nashville City Cemetery; Women Helping Women:  The YWCA of Nashville, and a 2-volume textbook series, Tennessee Through Time, that is on the state’s adoption list for 2008.   She is a Vice President of the Tennessee Historical Society and is on the editorial board of the Tennessee Historical Quarterly.  Currently, she is the director of the TEACH project, a professional development program to improve the teaching of American history in grades K-12.
