Help Desk

If you are having issues logging in to your account, you can change your password and unlock your account from the My VolState login page.

        Click the 'Change or activate your password' link on the bottom left of the login page (you will need your V number and your birthdate to do this).

If you are still having login issues, Volunteer State Community College offers a direct point of contact for IT Assistance. (You need to have available the exact error message you received trying to use the link when you contact the IT Help Desk.)

PIN/Password Assistance - call the IT Help Desk at 615-230-3302 (or extension 3302 from an on-campus phone) or 1-888-335-8722 Ext. 3302 or you may visit in person. The IT Help Desk is located in the Learning Commons, right inside the main doors.

Hours of Operations for the IT Help Desk for Faculty/Staff:

  • Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 8:00pm
  • Friday   7:30am - 5:00 pm
  • Saturday Closed
  • Sunday Closed


Urgent Computer Related Issues -If the computer problem is an emergency that is stopping a class or office production work, please call Extension 4357 (HELP) for assistance from the Emergency Technician Help Line.  Help is available Monday-Friday, 7:00am-7:30pm during semesters and 7:00am-4:30pm when students are not in class. If calling from an off-campus phone, please dial 615-452-8600 and then select Extension 4357 (HELP).

Routine Computer Related Issues - If the problem is not an emergency please submit an ITDirect Request. This link is used to ask for help with non-critical computer issues, both hardware and software.  This link can also be found on the Faculty & Staff webpage and can only be accessed from on campus.

Audio/Visual Assistance - if the problem is an emergency which is stopping a class please dial extension 3411 for assistance. If the problem is not an emergency or you need to schedule a set-up please submit an ITDirect Request. The Service Request link can also be found on the Faculty & Staff website. Remember that Service Requests are only operational from a computer on campus.
