Student Email

Volunteer State Community College uses a Student Email system called "Microsoft Outlook Web Access". This service is offered free to students while taking classes. The Student Email account is primarily used for Campus and Instructor communication.

Student Email User Account Information

Students are given a  Student Username after enrollment.

HINT: If you do not have your Student Username, please contact the IT Help Desk at 615-230-3302.

The Student Email Password is the same PIN that is used for your Pride Online Registration account, MyVolStateOnline account, and Library Resources Account.

Facts about your Student Email Account:

The Student Email address in the form of username@volstate.edu

Each student is given 16 MB of space for email correspondence. This space includes all of the email found in the following folders:

  • Inbox
  • Deleted Items
  • Sent Items
  • Drafts
  • Junk Email

After deleting an email, the Deleted Items folder must be emptied.

HINT: To empty this folder, right-click on the "Deleted Items" folder, and choose "Empty Deleted Items" from the menu.

Having Trouble Logging in to Your Email?

  1. Students MUST be a currently enrolled student AND attending classes during the current semester to have an active Email account. A student's Email account is NOT active and accessible until one week prior to the start of classes.
  2. Make sure pop-up blocker is turned OFF.
  3. Check Banner to verify that you are using the correct password. Passwords change in a student’s Email, D2L and library services accounts within 24 – 48 hours after a student resets their password in Banner.
  4. Verify that you are typing in only your username and NOT your Email address.
