Vol State offers evening classes each semester at McGavock High School in North Davidson County. McGavock is recognized as a degree-granting center, allowing students to complete all of their coursework for the Associate of Science Degree in University Parallel; and Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business.

The McGavock Coordinator is available Monday through Thursday 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm and on Fridays from 8:00 am to 4:30pm to assist you.  The office is located in room 146; phone number 615-885-8910.

Parking passes and student identification cards are available in the Coordinator’s Office, room 146, Monday-Thursday 1:00-9:30pm and on Fridays from 8:00-4:30.  For more information, please call 615-885-8910.


For new or readmit students, please apply online.  If you have questions or need assistance, please see the Coordinator in room 146. In addition, Admissions Office Staff is available to assist with questions from 8:00-4:30 Monday-Friday on the Gallatin campus, Ramer Building room 172, phone number 615-230-3688 or 1-888-335-8722, ext. 3688.


Advisors are available during peak registration times before priority registration begins each semester.  To make arrangements to meet fact-to-face with an advisor at McGavock High School, please contact the McGavock Coordinator at (615) 885-8910 between the hours of 1:00-9:30pm Monday-Thursday and 8:00-4:30 on Friday.  Online advising is available throughout the year and you can correspond with an online advisor through email at any time.  For additional information about Advising, please click here.

The Office of Disabilities Services provides testing accommodations and other required services. You may complete the intake/registration process online.

Retention Support Services

Students have access to the College Success Zone through the student portal which allows the student to “raise their hand” to request assistance for a myriad of issues – academic, career, and/or personal.  The College Success Zone also includes a services catalog which details and provides contact information for each of the services (academic and student support) provided for the students by the College.
