2 of 6:  Continue the 65% success rate of students enrolled in the flexible schedule, credit math course.

65% of students completing the flexible schedule, credit math courses will pass with a “C” or better.

Enrollment will increase 25% from summer 2001.

1.       Improve advertisement of non-credit summer high school program.

2.       Collect data from 2002 summer program.

3.       Survey student satisfaction of summer program.

4 of 6:  Continue investigating the availability and quality of internet tutorials in math, reading, and writing.

This search will lead to the addition of online tutorials in math, reading, writing.

Possible increase for an instructor to assist math on-line program (October budget revision if needed)

1.       Tracking of NEWSKILLS students.

2.       Survey of enrolled students.

3.       Survey of alumni.

5 of 6:  Increase Learning Strategies course completion rate.

65% of students enrolled in Learning Strategies will complete the course.

6 of 6:  Increase the basic skills of the WIA student in math, reading, and writing on which a career path can be built.

60% of the students completing the program in a specific subject (math, reading, and writing) will increase their basic skills to above 8th grade or will pass the Compass.

Funded by the WIA Youth Grant

Learning outcomes will be determined by a pre or post test on the TABE-PC and/or the Compass.
