Goal II
The College will improve its image with all constituents.
1. Coordinate a Job Shadowing Day with Consortium schools and VSCC.
The Tech Prep Coordinator will increase the number of schools involved in job shadowing from 0 to 1.
Adequate
1.Using a baseline of 0 schools, the number of actively involved schools will increase by 1.
2.Meet with Administration to develop procedures for Job Shadowing Day. Email VSCC campus to explain event and recruit volunteers for all departments.
3.Contact guidance counselors in local VSCC area with shadowing positions available. Have counselors match students to shadowing positions.
4.Establish date, forms, etc.
5.Evaluation of event completed by students and VSCC participants.
Goal VI
The College will ensure access to programs and services.
2. Increase articulation agreements between VSCC and Consortium secondary schools.
The North Central Tech Prep Consortium will increase the number of Articulation (course)
Agreements by 1.
Adequate
1.Using a baseline of 9 (VSCC) course articulation agreements, at least 1 additional (course) agreement will be completed in 2003-2004.
2.The Tech Prep Coordinator will work with the Consortium’s secondary schools and VSCC faculty to review and identify needed articulation agreements.
3.Notify by written form final agreements. Send to VSCC faculty, TBR staff, Consortium secondary schools.
Goal X
The College will design and implement workforce development initiatives that strengthen relationships with business and provide training for a diverse community and developing workforce.
3. Organize a P-16 Sub-Council involving several local counties.
A P-16 Sub –Council will be established during 03-04. Council members will include business, industry, and educators from the local counties selected.
Adequate
1.Meet with VSCC administrators to develop procedures for establishing a P-16 Sub-Council.
2.Contact representatives from business, industry, and education to participate in a P-16 Sub-Council.
