Nature photography is a popular hobby and a new non-credit class coming to Volunteer State Community College can help enthusiasts learn new techniques. The one-day workshop is being offered by Vol State Continuing Education and taught by Kendall Chiles, a freelance nature and travel photographer with over 25 years of photography experience. It will feature information about landscape photography and close up work. The principles of composition, perspective, exposure, light, and proper use of equipment will be covered. Participants should bring a variety of lenses and a tripod. It will be held on Saturday, May 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The location will be the Thigpen Library on the Vol State campus at 1480 Nashville Pike in Gallatin. The cost is $85. To register for this workshop, call 615-230-3358. The registration deadline is April 23.
