Summer is a great time to catch up on your reading or start a new hobby. It can also be an opportunity to take a class for fun or personal enrichment. The Volunteer State Community College Division of Continuing Education has many non-credit classes to choose from this summer.

Courses coming up in May and June include: Excel, Word 2007, Latin Dance, Ballroom Dance, Zumba, Personal Trainer Certification, Retirement Planning, Cake Decorating, Handgun Safety, Digital Photography and Instant Piano for Busy People. In July continuing education will have a Group Fitness Certification course.

Business people who want to make their operations more efficient and productive should consider Six Sigma training courses from the Business and Industry Institute at Vol State. There are a number of levels offered this summer including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Six Sigma Green Belt.

For a complete list of all classes, including times and dates visit the Continuing Education website. Registration for all classes can start online at www.volstate.edu/ContinuingEd or by calling 615-230-3358.
