Vol State Student Receives National Academic Honors

Volunteer State Community College student Jennifer Erickson of Gallatin has been selected as a 2013 Coca-Cola Silver Scholar. Selection as a Coca-Cola Silver Scholar is based on scores earned in the All-USA Community College Academic Team competition, for which more than 1,800 applications were received this year. This program is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is administered by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Erickson is a president's ambassador at Vol State and president of the Phi Theta Kappa chapter. She is a senior senator with the Student Government Association. She maintains a 3.88 GPA and hopes to attend Lipscomb University or Belmont University in the fall. She is married to Matthew Erickson and cares for three rescue dogs. She is the niece of Clare and David Wiedlocher of Lebanon.
