Streamlined Degree Package

Working students want options. They want flexibility. They want to get their degree quickly. Volunteer State Community College is announcing new Streamlined Degree Packages, designed with the working student in mind.

Streamlined Degree Packages are organized so the entire classroom work is done in one or two evenings, or one weekend day a week. The rest of the work is done online. It’s a natural outgrowth of the very popular hybrid classes. We’re taking it a step further and offering a whole hybrid degree program. It gives students face time with the instructor, combined with the flexibility of online course work.

Class schedules for the new Streamlined Degree Packages are planned in advance. Students take four classes a semester, on Saturday mornings for example. That means all the classes happen from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday mornings. The courses for upcoming semesters are drawn up immediately, so students know they will be able to get the classes they need, when they need them. The Streamlined Degree Packages are also designed for transfer to any four-year university in the Tennessee Board of Regents system.

The Streamlined Degree Packages, in University Studies and the new Associate of Science in Teaching, are currently being offered in the Saturday morning format. The University Studies Streamlined Degree Package is also being offered in the evenings.

Here are the course layouts for the three current Streamlined Degree Packages. For more information about how to get started, visit the Admissions page. For more information about the program you can call the Admissions Office at (615) 230-3688.

By choosing one of the packages below, you can finish your degree in 24 months by attending class on Saturday mornings or in the evenings. You are strongly encouraged to take each of the courses in the order listed below. If you deviate from this order, there is no guarantee that you will be able to complete your degree in 24 months.

Students entering into the program after the fall start will be guided on how to organize the needed coursework. The Advising Center can help you find an advisor. Call (615) 230-3702
