Associates of Science in Teaching
The Associate of Science in Teaching (AST) is designed for individuals interesting in K – 6 teacher certification. This degree allows for a seamless transfer into a teacher education program at Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) institutions.

Additional Degree Requirements
- Attainment of 2.75 cumulative GPA (college level only)
- Successful completion of Praxis I or ACT Composite Score of 22
- Satisfactory rating on an index of suitability for the teaching profession (procedure will be developed through collaboration between university and community college representatives)
- Computer Literacy Requirement
