Tutoring is a valuable service provided for SSS participants. Peer tutors are used in the academic areas of reading, writing, math and other select courses. The necessity for tutoring will be based on academic need; which is determined by the TRIO SSS Counselor, and as requested by the student. The SSS Counselor will meet with the tutor to outline the areas of student need.
In order to request a tutor you must complete a Tutor Request Form. Once the form is completed please bring it by the TRIO Student Support Services office located in the Wood Campus Center, Room 212. The TRIO SSS Counselor will review the request and contact an available tutor. Once an available tutor is located the SSS Counselor will contact the program participant.
There will be times that a request for a tutor is made and there is not an available tutor in the specific subject area. In that case, the SSS Counselor will do the very best job to locate a tutor and contact the program participant as quickly as possible. However, if an application has been submitted and more than two weeks has passed, please contact the TRIO SSS Counselor to inquire about the status of the available tutoring.
