Opus Inspection -

Job DescriptionPerforms vehicle emissions tests using established inspection procedures. Directs motorists in and out of inspection station. Inspects vehicles for conditions affecting safety and exhaust system integrity. Collects inspection fees and accounts for the dollar amount, coupon(s), free “retest VIR” collected. Enters appropriate vehicle information into computer. Verifies paperwork presented by customer, against vehicle and verifies paperwork to database information. Operates emissions testing equipment. Returns test results to customer;explains the data as necessary, and the next steps in the process. Distributes appropriate brochures and fliers to customers

Refers questions or comments to appropriate station or program personnel. Actively offer and complete on-line tag renewals.

Performs other duties as assigned, including janitorial, lawn maintenance and other facility care tasks as required.

Job Requirements• Outgoing personality, smiling faces, loyal, reliable, good work ethic, positive, “can do” attitude.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, minimum 16 years of age.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills.
• Typing or keyboarding skills preferred.
• General automotive knowledge helpful.
• Ability to endure prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Ability to stoop, bend, twist, reach and squat.
• Ability to balance body weight on one or both knees.
• Ability to work in extreme hot and cold weather.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Must possess manual dexterity sufficient to operate computer keyboard, make electronic equipment connections and to operate testing equipment.
• Must possess normal range hearing and vision.

Company Description Opus Inspection is the contractor for the vehicle Emission testing in Metro Nashville and the other counties of Tennessee. We are a world wide leader in the field emission and safety testing for cars and trucks. Currently we have 12 stations in the Middle Tennessee area and 4 in Chattanooga TN. We have a fleet of mobile testing vehicles that we operate as well.
