Caregiver

CSI-Caregiver Services of Tennessee -

Job Description56 yrs old male. Transportation required. Daily DIDD mileage rate paid. 40 hours max- 2 PA’s minimum needed. PA “couple” teams are welcome to apply.
Individual is a pleasant man who has a very outgoing personality and likes to laugh. He makes visitors in his home feel welcome and has a good sense of humor. He is wheelchair bound and can self-propel his wheelchair for small maneuvers when possible, but will need assistance from his PA to get between small, narrow spaces as he may run into walls/barriers. PA’s will assist with all personal care, dressing, bathing and other activities of daily living needs throughout the day as needed. Individual needs physical assistance at all times in transferring and utilizes a Hoyer lift to transfer to/from shower and wheelchair. PT transfer plans are implemented and monitored. It is important to that he goes out into his community as he loves getting out of the house, taking car rides and visiting his community. He loves going out to eat, to the mall, to the museum and to the park. He loves to be around people and to watch people. He loves going to the movies. Individual is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy/Spastic Diplegia with Athetosis. Due to his diagnosis his arms and legs have abnormal stiffness, therefore, it is very important that he is repositioned and stretched throughout the day to address this. He receives PT services to address his contractures. Individual is also diagnosed with Cervical Spondylitis which causes pain in his neck region that radiates to his hand and Thoracic Scoliosis, which also causes him back pain due to the curveting of his spine. He usually communicates through the use of gestures, body language and facial expressions. He has a difficult time communicating as he has no functional speech, but can make vocalizations and does so through non-specific pointing and grunting. He will smile and laugh when he is approached by someone familiar to him or when talking about his family. Can choose what clothes he wants to wear, what he would like to watch on television and activities in which he would like to participate in when given options. He is assisted by his sister/conservator for larger financial and medical decisions. He has a monitor in his room to alert caregivers if he is moving around during the sleeping hours. He enjoys talking on the phone and has SLH to increase communication skills.

Job RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent, valid TN drivers license, pass background check , random drug screening, Be responsible, dependable and willing to learn. Great for students majoring in Human Services or Health related fields. Full and part time hours available, PRN (as needed) and weekend openings.
