Job DescriptionSweetwater Pools of Nashville is looking for responsible and hard-working individuals to become professional pool managers for the 2018 Summer season. Work will be from May 2018 to September 2018.

We are looking for responsible, outgoing, organized applicants who are dedicated to safety and customer service. Managers are expected to work 40 hours a week. The primary duties of a pool manager are prevention, enforcing pool rules, responding to emergencies and diligently applying specialized observation techniques. Secondary duties include chemical testing of pool water, vacuuming and cleaning of the pool, completing daily report forms, ensuring safe and clean facilities, and In-service training to maintain lifeguarding skills.

Pool Manager Duties:
• Scheduling staff and anticipating any scheduling issues in order to handle coverage properly. Assisting in the event of complications
• Collaborating with nearby managers/other staff to ensure complete shift coverage
• Checking and maintaining proper chemical levels in pool
• Ensure that the pools are vacuumed, chemical balanced, surrounding area is clean and inviting to guests
• Backwash filters and maintain proper water levels
• Supervise a staff ranging from 2-10 lifeguards and/or pool attendants
• Oversee in-service training and safety auditing programs, ensuring compliance as it relates to staff training and facility operations items.
• Provide regular guidance to staff at facility and employee-related matters (i.e. customer service, disciplinary, training, recruitment and selection)
• Ensure safe environment for members by enforcing rules, mentoring/training guards, etc.
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. (Flexible schedule)
• Lifeguard as needed or required by location
• Provide positive guest experience
• Maintain staff rotations and breaks
• Communication with Assistant Staffing Director, Staffing Director, Property Manager, Pool Committee, Area Supervisor, and Office Staff
• Follow local health department protocol

Job RequirementsMust successfully complete a lifeguard certification course through StarGuard, American Red Cross or Ellis before being able to start employment. You DO NOT have to be certified when applying as we hold many Lifeguard classes in the Spring to certify our employees.

Preferred Requirements:
• Certified Pool Operator certification
• Lifeguard certified
• Previous management experience
• Professional and well spoken
• Organized
