Education Assistant - Exceptional Education (ED ASST EX ED)

Job DescriptionWorks directly with a classroom teacher to assist with the implementation of supports and services reflected in an individual education program (IEP). Provides support to teachers and students in a variety of tasks related to academics, behavior and physical logistics. Coaches and encourage students to actively engage in the process of learning and becoming more independent.

High school diploma or GED. Must have “Highly Qualified” status from at least one of these measures: 1) 48 hours from an accredited college, 2) an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college, or 3) current “Paraprofessional Praxis” distinction.

Previous work experience with children under the supervision of other adults required. Proficient in basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
