Athletics & Intramurals

The athletic teams at Volunteer State Community College include Baseball, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Women’s Fast Pitch Softball. Our intercollegiate teams have been highly successful and nationally ranked. We are members of the Western Division of the Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association. We are members of the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association and the National Junior College Athletic Association. Students, faculty and staff can attend games free. Admission to games is $5.00.

TCCAA Tournament

Hundreds of baseball players, softball players, coaches and fans descended on Volunteer State Community College for the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region VII Baseball and Softball Tournament. Play was held Sunday, May 8, 2011 and ran through May 13,2011. Teams from 10 community colleges were in the tournament: Chattanooga State, Cleveland State, Columbia State, Dyersburg State, Jackson State, Motlow State, Roane State, Southwest Tennessee, Vol State and Walters State.

Volunteer State Community College athletics teams compete in the TCCAA and the NJCAA, playing teams across Tennessee and Kentucky. Vol State has traditionally been one of the top teams in the state. The college is the winner of the 2008-2009 All-Sports Award for TCCAA.
