General Education Outcomes Assessment Committee

Committee Purpose

The purpose of the General Education Committee is to ensure achievement of general education outcomes and academic excellence in the general education program.

Committee Activities

1. Develop a program of general education outcomes assessment.

2. Research and identify appropriate assessment instruments.

3 Review results of general education assessments.

4. Report results of general education assessments to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

5. Assist all faculty in developing mechanisms to improve general education instruction based on assessment results.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs

Membership

At least one but no more than two faculty representatives from each academic division

One representative from Testing

One Dean from Humanities, Social Sciences and Education, or Math and Science (Dean representation will rotate on a yearly basis.)

Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, Planning, and Assessment

Chair of Curriculum Committee

Student representation: 2
