Instruction Committee

Committee Purpose

The purpose of the Instruction Committee is to provide support for continued improvement in teaching and learning.

Committee Activities

1. Support faculty excellence.

2. Research and recommend improved teaching or learning methodologies.

3. Encourage dialogue about issues that affect faculty and students in the classroom and other learning environments.

4. Make recommendations concerning academic policies and procedures.

5. Work with the Professional Development Committee to provide professional development opportunities for faculty to share ideas and enhance instruction.

6. Make recommendations on faculty evaluations.

7. Monitor and make recommendations on student evaluations.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs

Membership

One tenured and one non-tenured faculty from each academic division

Two adjunct faculty

Chair of Curriculum Committee

Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs

Director of Distance Learning

Assistant Vice President for Student Services (responsible for Enrollment Management)

Director of Newskills

Student representation: 2
