Professional Development Committee

Committee Purpose

The purpose of the Professional Development Committee is to promote the professional development of all College employees.

Committee Activities

1. Develop and maintain guidelines for professional development, to include

a. Definition of professional development, including individual and group travel,

b. Procedures for applying for funds,

c. Criteria for awarding of funds,

d. Fund professional development initiatives,

e. Identification of benefits to the College,

f Appeals process.

2. Identify common professional development needs of employees and sponsor appropriate activities to meet those needs.

3. Identify common professional development needs of specific groups of employees and sponsor appropriate activities to meet those needs.

4. Develop and maintain procedures for requesting and approving mini-grants for professional development initiatives.

5. Create and distribute a calendar listing available professional development activities.

6. Plan designated professional development days.

7. Plan Fall Convocation.

Student Services

One representative from Plant Operations

Director of Non-Credit Instruction

Total Membership: 15 -18

At-large members: 3
