College@Home Course Orientations
The links to online orientations on this page will provide you with a quick start for distance learning. After all, you are probably thinking about taking a distance learning course or another distance learning course because of your busy schedule. Distance learning courses offer more flexibility for a busy schedule.
Instructors teaching distance courses in the College@Home program have developed course orientation guides to getting started and succeeding in their course.
Interactive Television Classes
The Volunteer State Distance Learning Department offers "Interactive Video Conference" Classes which allow students in Livingston and Gallatin to meet together with a single instructor through connected video-classrooms.
College@Home Video Classes
Volunteer State offers a number of videotape courses on VHS video-cassettes providing convenient opportunities for college credit. The courses can be completed mainly at home with a maximum of five on-campus class sessions.
Courses Over the Internet
Selected Volunteer State courses are also offered online over the internet. Students with internet access and web browser software can take classes using the Web.
Volunteer State also offers the TBR Regents Online Degree, a program to increase higher education access for adult Tennesseans. It provides student access to additional web-based courses and degree programs. Visit the RODP course updates page.
Courses By CD-ROM
Selected Volunteer State courses are also offered on computer CD-ROMS. Students need access to a computer with a CD drive. These courses can also be completed mainly at home with a maximum of five on-campus sessions.
