Math and Science Division
The Math and Science Division of the academic program of the College offers university parallel degrees in Associate of Science or Associate of Arts in a number of disciplines, and the Associate of Applied Science in General Technology, with a concentration in Industrial Technology. Freshman- and Sophomore-level courses are taught in Agriculture, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Pre-Dental Hygiene, Pre-Nursing, and in the Pre-Medical Professional areas of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medical Technology, Optometry, Physical Therapy, and Veterinary Medicine.
Candidates seeking adjunct teaching opportunities in the Division must possess appropriate credentials. Minimum educational/work credentials are:
- A Masters degree and eighteen graduate hours in the teaching discipline are required to teach AS/AA degree program courses (designed to transfer to a Bachelors degree program).
- An Associate degree/ Baccalaureate preferred and work experience in the field are required to teach AAS degree program courses (professional, occupational, technical courses not designed for transfer to a Bachelors degree program).
- A Bachelors degree in Math or related area and undergraduate Calculus and teaching experience are required to teach Developmental Studies Math courses.
