Humanities Division

Have you always enjoyed creative activities? Do you like working with your hands and enjoy learning when it's personally interesting to you? Do you want to build the knowledge and skills with which to express your ideas? The Art Program at Vol State offers foundation level and advanced courses in Drawing, Painting, Design (including Graphic Design), Printmaking, Photography and Ceramics. You may be interested in a few courses for your personal growth or you may be planning to pursue a career in the art and design fields. You can earn an Associate of Science in Art (A.S.) or an Associate of Art in Art (A.A. - this degree requires a foreign language). These degrees will transfer to any senior institution of your choice where you can earn your Bachelor's degree.

The Vol State Art Gallery

The Vol State Art Gallery features the work of visiting artists from across the country, as well as local Tennessee artists and student and faculty exhibitions. It is free and open to everyone.

The Gallery is located on the first floor of the Steinhauer-Rogan-Black (SRB) Humanities Building on the Gallatin campus at 1480 Nashville Pike. During the semesters, when classes are being held, Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Gallery will be closed for holidays and at other times when the campus is closed.
