Life at Vol State

College is more than just classes and academic challenges- it’s an opportunity for you to explore.

Student Organizations

The Honors Program, Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, National Society of Leadership and Success and the Student Government Association are groups that can expand your academic perspective, give you the opportunity to take a leadership role on campus and help you to meet people with similar interests.

Events and Clubs

We have events ranging from plays and concerts to video game contests and cultural celebrations. Each one is an opportunity for you to enjoy, get involved and meet new people.

There are many student groups active at Vol State. You can work on the “Settler” student newspaper or join the Collegiate Ministry. You can write fiction or poetry for award-winning student publications. Life on the Gallatin campus can mean a quiet moment studying in a sunny corner, taking part in fall and spring festivals, watching movies in the auditorium or laughing to a comedian in the cafeteria. You’ll find plenty to do and see at all of our campuses. For more information visit Student Life in Room 215 in the Wood Campus Center on the Gallatin campus or check at the front desk at Highland Crest or Livingston.  You can also find more information online at www.volstate.edu/StudentLife

Studying on a sunny day

You’ll find events posted to the front page of our web site and also on Facebook.

Vol State Softball

The Pioneers take excellence to heart, on the playing field and in the classroom. We have baseball, softball and men’s and women’s basketball programs. You can check out basketball games at the Pickel Field House. The baseball and softball teams have their own fields on either end of the campus. All you need is your student ID to get in free.
