Adaptive software is available on a stand-alone computer in the Office of Disability Services suite as well as the ADA computer in the collegeâ€™s library. ZoomText is available on multiple computers across campus. In addition to software, VSCC also has audio recorders, PC Tablets, and laptops available for student use in class. Dragon Naturally Speaking:
The Dragon Naturally Speaking product line adds speech recognition capabilities to the PC, thus enabling users to work virtually hands free when creating documents, accessing data, or navigating their desktop. JAWS is a software program for individuals who are blind or have visual impairments published by Freedom Scientific. JAWS provides the user with access to the information displayed on the screen via text-to-speech (reads aloud what is on the PC screen) and allows for comprehensive keyboard interaction with the computer.
