Button & Link Types

With a few exceptions, this site uses large buttons rather than traiditional links. We do this because we assume you’re visiting this site on a phone or other mobile device “clicking” on things using your fingers rather than a mouse. A link with just a word or 2 can be a surprisingly hard target for finger taps rather than mouse clicks. We’ve also tried to visually style our links and buttons to help you decide what to click (or tap) on.

Non-Mobile Optimized Pages

Links or buttons that will load a page that has not been designed with a mobile environment in mind should display an icon that looks like a computer monitor with a green arrow.

Email

Links and buttons which will launch your email program should display an envelope icon. As often as possible, we try to display the full email address as well. Maybe you just want to write it down for later and not have to email us on your mobile device.

Maps

Buttons and links that will either take you to the Google Maps website or launch your device’s map app should display a map icon.

Directions to Main Campus

Phone Numbers

Some devices can dial or save a phone number with the tap of a button provided it’s formatted properly. On this site, such links should display an icon that looks like a telephone.
