Vol State Announces Presidential Scholarship Recipients

Six area students have been awarded Presidential Academic Service Scholarships at Volunteer State Community College. All students that applied for private scholarships at Vol State were screened for those with a 26 or better on the ACT, a 3.50 high school GPA and who met the March 1 deadline. From this group the top six were selected. The scholarship provides $3,500 for the year. The students will work 75 hours with Vol State campus offices each semester. The recipients are (left to right): Katy Belcher of Hartsville, Ashley Short of Winchester, Kady Waller of Pleasant Shade. They are shown with Vol State President Dr. Warren Nichols.
