Home Inspector Training Course at Vol State

Home sales in Middle Tennessee are up 25 percent over last year, according to the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors. That means that buyers are finally coming back to the market and that, in turn, increases the need for home inspections. Volunteer State Community College is offering a home inspection licensing course starting October 2. It will be taught by the Home Inspection Institute. The organization says that home inspectors typically earn between $250 and $400 for the average home. With a relatively low overhead, the Inspection Institute calls it a good way for people to start their own business. The licensing process in Tennessee requires inspectors to obtain state approved education and pass the state mandated exam. The 90 hour course is held during the day over a two week period starting October 2. The cost is $1995. For more information on the course contact Vol State Continuing Education at 615-230-3358.
