It's time to get ready for fall classes at Volunteer State Community College in Livingston. The college has an event that can help everyone- from those who are ready to apply to those who are just considering college for the first time. The Bluegrass and Barbecue event on Thursday, June 13 will be a fun way to get started. The purpose is to show prospective students of all ages what the Livingston campus has to offer. There will be information about free academic support services, programs and classes, clubs and organizations. And as the name implies, there will also be plenty of live bluegrass music and barbecue.

New students will need to apply to the college. That can be done online at or in-person at the campus. The Bluegrass and Barbecue Celebration will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Livingston campus at 113 Windle Community Road. It is free and open to everyone.
