Testing Center

The Testing Center, a part of the Division of Student Services, is located in the Warf Building, Room 126, and houses a testing facility that can provide testing for up to thirty-three (33) examinees.

The following information is for the Gallatin campus only.  For Livingston testing information, schedule, and appointments call 1-800-563-8220 ext. 5217.  For Highland Crest/Springfield testing information, schedule, and appointments contact Dana Davis at 615-433-7042.

Scheduling appointments with the Testing Center – Gallatin campus only

To schedule a COMPASS or Diagnostic exam, please call 615-230-3484.

To schedule a Regents Online (RODP) proctored exam:

  1. www.volstate.edu/testing
  2. Click on RODP and Exit Exam Scheduling
  3. Create an account or enter your login information
  4. Select "RODP - Volunteer State Community College" - (The actual course name will not appear.)
  5. Select a Date and Time for exam
  6. A reminder email will be sent 2 days prior to exam

To schedule a VSCC online proctored exam:

  1. www.volstate.edu/testing
  2. Click on VSCC Online Exam Scheduling
  3. Create an account or enter login information
  4. Select course
  5. Select a Date and Time for exam
  6. A reminder email will be sent 2 days prior to exam

To schedule the ETSP Graduate Exit Exam:

  1. www.volstate.edu/testing
  2. Click on RODP and Exit Exam Scheduling
  3. Create an account or enter login information
  4. Select "ETSP Proficiency Profile (75 min)"
  5. Select a Date and Time for exam
  6. You will be sent a reminder email 2 days prior to exam
To schedule a GBA or Paralegal Exit exam, please call 615-230-3484. The GBA and/or Paralegal Review must be completed prior to testing.  Please contact the Business Division at 615-230-3301 for review information.

A student who has missed an exam in the classroom and needs to schedule a makeup exam must make prior arrangements with his/her instructor and then call the Testing Center at 615-230-3484 to schedule the exam. The instructor will also need to contact the Testing Center to provide instructions for administering the exam and to deliver the exam.

When is testing available?

The Testing Center is typically open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  The Center's hours may vary during peak periods such as registration, mid-term and final exams, semester breaks, etc.  When scheduling an exam, students must allow enough time to be able to complete testing before the Testing Center's published closing time.  Although walk-ins may be accommodated if possible and space permits, all testing after 3:00 p.m. is by appointmnent only.

What is required of examinees utilizing the Center?

  1. Examinees must call the Testing Center at (615) 230 - 3484 (or schedule online, if applicable) to schedule a testing date and time. The Center administers many different tests, and some are available only on certain dates and times.
  2. Examinees must pay the appropriate test fees, if applicable, and bring proof of payment to the Testing Center on test day.
  3. Examinees must bring photo identification for entry into the Testing Center, along with any pre-authorized materials and aids.
  4. Examinees must be aware of the Testing Center's operating hours and allow plenty of time to complete testing before the Center's published closing time.
  5. No food, drink, cell phones, and/or other electronic devices are permitted in the Testing Center.
  6. No children or other adults may accompany examinees into the Testing Center. Children may not be left unattended on campus or in the Center while examinees are testing, and the Center cannot be responsible for children or adults who require care and supervision while examinee is testing. 
  7. Examinees should make sure they are given the correct exam in order to receive credit for the work performed.

What services are available to students with disabilities?

Accommodations and support services are provided to students with disabilities who register with the Office of Disability Services.  The Testing Center strongly encourages students with disabilities to contact the Office of Disability Services at (615) 230 - 3472 prior to any testing to discuss possible accommodations.

What about Test Security?

The Testing Center has  security measures in place, such as log in/log out monitoring of all tests and safe storage of testing materials in a testing vault located within the Testing Center office.

Test Security and Academic Dishonesty Policy

The Testing Center strives to provide test security by carefully tracking tests and scrap paper. In addition, the Testing Center supports and adheres to standards for academic honesty set forth in the student code. Incidents of academic dishonesty in the Testing Center are treated seriously. Students found to be cheating will lose Testing Center privileges for all classes for the remainder of the semester. If a student is observed using unauthorized aids, the Testing Center Staff will:

The Testing Center charges a $20 No Show/Rescheduling Fee for the A2/HESI exam.
