Vol State TV Shows Feature Politics and Entertainment

The Volunteer State Community College television program "Inside Politics" features a new congresswoman and local movers and shakers. The show is co-hosted by former News2 anchor Nancy Hauskins. It airs weekly on community access cable channels in Gallatin, Hendersonville, Portland, White House, Springfield, Greenbrier, Ridgetop, Lebanon and Mt. Juliet. The line-up includes: Week of February 7: Congresswoman Diane Black; Week of February 14: Democratic Candidate for the 18th District State Senate, Portland Mayor Ken Wilber; Week of February 21: Republican Candidate for the 18th District State Senate, Kerry Roberts; Week of February 28: State legislative update.

"Vol State Presents" is a 30 minute program highlighting artists and entertainers as they talk about their craft. The latest edition of the entertainment show features: Alan LeQuire, the Nashville sculptor known for his Athena statue in the Parthenon and the Musica sculpture on Music Row; the Nashville Children's Theater performance of the musical "Seussical"; Vol State alumni Tommy Stewart, a radio talk show producer for the Ralph Bristol Show and the Michael DelGiorno Show on 99.7, WTN; and Gallatin native and American Idol finalist, Kimberley Locke.

The show airs on Gallatin cable channel 19 daily at 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. beginning February 14 and is also available on-line at www.volstate.edu/volstatepresents
