Vol State Honored with Community Cornerstone Award

Volunteer State Community College was recognized for 40 years of service by the Gallatin Chamber of Commerce on Friday. The Community Cornerstone award was presented at the annual Gallatin Chamber banquet, this year celebrating the 90th anniversary of the organization. James Story, music associate professor and chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Vol State, performed with a specially picked group at the Chamber event.

The Community Cornerstone Award specifically mentioned the contribution of Vol State students, faculty and staff to the community. Vol State is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the college this year with events and activities, including web and social media activities.
